it just hit me
Not long ago, it suddenly hit me that I'm getting old -- when I no longer got carded at a bar.

Today, the feeling of getting old once again surfaced when I got an email telling me that my car insurance premium has gone down $50 bucks per month.

Now that's old. *groan* Although, I really can't complain since this is really good news.

amazing!
woke up sick this morning, sore throat and a slight fever. over here, we actually have to present an mc (medical certificate) in order for today to be counted as a sick day for me. so off to the doctor i went this afternoon. the pharmacy is in the clinic itself, so my prescription was fulfilled immediately after i saw the doctor. i hadn't received my insurance card yet, so i was afraid that i wouldn't have enough cash to pay for everything. "thirty-six ringgit, miss." ok, that's not that bad. for five different prescriptions, this would've easily cost me us$12 co-pay per prescription. then i asked my mom if i had to pay the doctor's fee at the receptionist separately. "no, it's fifteen ringgit - already included with the prescription you picked up."

now that's cheap medicine! so far i've discovered three things that are cheap in malaysia - food, medicine, and new balance shoes.

movie quiz
It was on TNT tonight.
Briefcase.
Guns.
A black Audi S8 with Nitrous.
One of the best car chase scene ever.
I'm sure some of you know what I'm talking about, yeah...
weekend recap
haven't done this a while, but so many recap-worthy event happened over the past week I just had to write it down.

  • Went to bed really late friday night.
  • Was dying when I crawled out of bed saturday morning, called up a-go-go, and off we went for a pedicure.
  • This was the first time I got a real manicure and man it felt good. My 10 piggies are blushing in bright red now ;)
  • Rush over to the K's mansion just in time for a briefing on the afternoon's big event.
  • It's colleen and don's wedding reception.
  • The hours flew by as we worked to get all the decor set up at cafe demenil.
  • Then we rushed home to take a quick shower, freshen up, and *zoom* off we go again.
  • We, the greeters, weren't late. The guests were early. Way early.
  • The company and food were great. The cake was awesome.
  • Then came the dancing. I have secret video footage for those that aren't aware.
  • It was the best wedding reception I have ever been to.
  • Sunday was a-go-go How-To-Have-Fun-On-A-Rainy-Day day.
  • The newlyweds hung around after that and we watched The Last Samurai on DVD.
  • IMHO, Ken Watanabe, not Tom Cruise, that made the movie The Movie.
  • Sunday Monday was Rib America. I swear it gets more expensive every year.
  • I've been there for the past three years, so I went straight to my fav: Carolina BBQ.
  • They did not let me down.
  • Also got some Fudge from union station.
  • This week is the first of my three four-day work week. Too many numbers in this sentence.

car talk
This morning:

Shadow the plat. grey Jetta: It's nice out today. Feel the cool air?
Me: Yep, you like that don't you?
Shadow: *After taking a deep breathe* Oh yeah. Perfect day to be out. Wanna go for a fast run?
Me: Sure, it's not like I can stop you anyways.
Shadow: True... it's not like you're going to anyway...
Me: ...

I swear I did not make this up.
