With ryan gone, the burden of maintaining every freakin' thing in the household falls on my shoulder. I don't like the responsibility, and much rather he be there... sigh. But since he's not, I gotta step up to the plate.
First thing this morning, i saw a medium size bug in my bathroom. Normally I would have wake ryan up and have him deal with it, not that I can't, but I rather not. So I proceeded to grab a whole lot of kleenex, picked the little bug up, used my two fingers to give it a squeeze, and threw it down the toilet.
Eeeek! I know. But my mom does that all the time, especially with an itty bitty tiny piece of kleenex and usually the bugs are huge!
And then tonight I had to deal with the laptop stuff again. Office 2003 is not uninstalling correctly, and I can't install Office XP, so I ran a bunch of updates and patches, then I realized I have to remove and then add back my wireless card's driver, and it still wasn't working. Finally I figured out by pure trial and error (keep in mind I am completely clueless when it comes to networking) - to remove the one DHCP client, and let the new connection establish automatically again, plus tons of rebooting on the laptop. After a good two hours of fiddling around, it miraculously worked!
I thought I was going to have a heart attack if the wireless die again. But everything got resolved. Whew.
