sista'
My sister, who's five years younger and currently a jr. in UW, told me a while ago that she needed a computer. I suggested Dell, told her what configurations to get, but left it up to her to complete the transaction online.
After that I heard nothing from her... till about 3 days ago.
In an email, she wrote: "hey, i emailed DELL twice about the rebate but they said it only qualifies for $50 rebate. What should i do? Return the comp? Remember it was $150 rebate right?"
I have no idea there was even a rebate to begin with, or if she had ordered online, or call the 1-800 number. So I wrote her a rather rude email telling her I can't help her if she doesn't explain the situation. To my frustration, I got back another two-liner email: "remember when u suggested the comp to me, they said they had a promotion of $150 rebate and a free CD burner, but when i ask them, they said there is only $50 rebate."
I can't help but roll my eyes. How am I suppose to help her with such limited information?! So I wrote her a smartass email telling her the best way to go about doing this is to yell at Dell's customer service.
Apparently that's what she did.
Two days later I got a phone call from her, she was frazzled and grumpy, she was just calling to vent but I gave her a couple of tips on how to deal with the customer service people.
I heard from her again a day later, albeit sounding rather frustrated, she managed to get $100 rebate back.
I was mildly surprise... oh okay, very surprise that she had taken care of matters. I guess little sisters do grow up eh...
Moral of the story: No matter how mean I am to you ASPY, I am still proud of you. The meanstreak is just my personality... too bad you're always on the receiving end. *evil chuckle*
