argh
My freakin' DSL is more fickled-minded than any woman I know - it connects whenever it wants to, and sits there and blink whenever it doesn't want to.

This has been going on for the past two nights. It just plain suck to not have internet access at home.

I've resorted to good old fashion Dial Up - right now there is a 50ft phone line running across the living room. Let's just hope I don't trip and fall in my own apartment.

My case has been escalated and someone should give me a call tomorrow morning. In the mean time, a 56k connection is better than nothing.

drivers beware
The weather is nice and cops are out everywhere! I saw two cops sneakily hiding behind unsuspicious bends on I-44, and not all of them have their radar on. Yesterday there were three cars that got pulled over at the Bowles exit off of I-44 by three seperate cops.

Drive slower, folks.

heaven
I thought I've died and gone to heaven.

Went to the ballgame yesterday afternoon and came home feeling like crap. On top of seasonal allergies, I think I have some sort of infection as my throat was sore and my ears hurt pretty bad. I fell asleep from 4-6.30pm, woke up, and immediately thought of dinner.

But I don't feel like cooking anything.

The cellphone rang and it was a-go-go: "Have you had dinner yet?"

Me, still in a haze: "Ummm no, why?"

A-go-go: "I'm making my famous spinach and portabella mushroom wtih angel hair pasta, you want some?"

My ears perk up immediately: "Oh yeah, sure! Thank you!" I've learn to never say "No" to a-go-go's cooking.

God sent an angel to my rescue. Dinner was awesome, followed by some scrumptious dessert that we baked over the weekend. It was heavenly.

get well soon!
So my baby Shadow is sick. Not sure what's wrong but he's limping a little sometimes. I'm gonna have to take him in to the doctors tonight for a quick checkup, but I hope he won't need a stayover at the hospital.

Poor baby. Please get well soon, you have party to go to on saturday night.

And yes, I need a pet/life.

fuel
Oh so much to do, and so little time, I feel like I'm running on adrenaline, caffeine and fumes. I will crash and burn this weekend but for now, I'm working hard to the beats of my new Trance Nation America CDs.

Edit:
And my horoscope appropriately comfirms it:

Dear A,

You ought to be on the same wavelength with the important people in your life on Monday, and you should be able to make a much more meaningful connection with someone special this week. You're bound to have the energy required to accomplish everything you'd like before the week is through.
late night
it is 12.37am. I am still up. I will pay dearly for this tomorrow when mr. alarm start yelling at me at 5.12am.

monkey business
My sister's mirror sucks (and those of you who know me very well know why). So one of the first things I did after I arrived back in KL is to seek out a tolerable to work out. My mom recommended this running trail in Bukit Kiara, so I went with her early Saturday morning. It turned out to be such a good workout, even though I only walked. This is because the trail had plenty of up- and down-hills, so it made for a terrific resistance walk. It was pretty jungle-y as well -- think hiking-type jungle-y, except the trail is a one-lane road so that more people can walk. So I could smell all the wonderful trees in the mist early that morning.

A big culture shock for me, however, was that there were monkeys just hanging out there! I'm not talking 1 or 2, I'm talking like 15-20 monkeys, old and young. They were playing around, and even came onto the road. I was so afraid one of them might jump onto my head and attack me. But nobody played with/stared at/fed them, and I suppose that's for safety purposes since these are stray monkeys. I even saw a couple of baby monkeys up on the tree that were the size of squirrels. :)

Sigh ... wish I had a camera or camera-phone so that I can take pictures, but I'm sure I'll go back to Bukit Kiara for a run pretty often. I'll take pics next time for the blog.
