Reality
I don't watch Reality shows on TV because I have problems with realities in my own f*cked up life. Sigh.
Oh Boy!
Just got off the phone with my friend, and found out that they're having a boy!! Congratulations J+K!

Couch
I need to think this out loud, so bear with me.

I finally found a new apt, met with the landlord for the second time yesterday, and everything is confirmed, they're retiling the kitchen floor and then the place will be mine.

The only dilemma I have is that my oh-so-gorgeous red cushy couch that I liked so much won't fit in through the door. I did contemplate looking for another place that has a wider entrance, but in the S. Hampton area, that's probably hard to come by.

So what should I do? Sell the red couch and get another smaller one? I searched high and low for that couch 2 years ago and it was the perfect couch. It'll be hard to let it go. Argh. Although, I won't mind furniture shopping again.

Why isn't there an ikea nearby? Even if I can drive to the Chicago ikea, I can't haul a couch back. *argh!*

On friday morning, 3-4 hours into the drive, the Chicago + Stl caravan drove pass an exit to the South Bend airport.

Conversation on the two-way radio:
*beep* Are we there yet?
*beep* Maybe we should all exit to the airport and fly to Jersey.
*beep* DUDE! You're already flying, you're in a VW.

That was priceless.

and in a blink of an eye, my vacation is almost over
The last four days was like a whirlwind, I don't even know where to begin.
    Let's see, thursday night:
  1. Met up with the STL crew at 9pm and trekked up to Chi-town. On the way we were greeted with a magnificent storm, there was lightning everywhere. When the rain came pouring, we had to pull over and wait for it to go by. None of us mind going through the 'giant car wash', the rain cleaned most of the bugs off our cars.
    Friday:
  1. Met up with the Chi-town Dubbers at 3.30am, their parade of cars is nothing short of magnificent.

  2. 38 VW plus one Evo gunned out of Chicago and headed east, the driving getting more and more aggresive as day breaks. It was a breathtaking sight when we all pulled up at the service plaza and completely took over the place.

  3. Throughout the drive, we stopped and picked fellow Dubbers from Detroit and Ohio, had lunch in Pennsylvania, and finally made it to New Brunswick at 9pm, with the rain pouring down again.
    Saturday:
  1. Took the train into NYC, and met up with Pearly and many other friends of our gang. Spent the day shopping and eating. It was great fun, and it was really awesome to see Pearly and meet Johnny for the first time. Thanks for the watch and the blasting time girl! Miss you already!
    Sunday: the big day
  1. We were all up at the crack of dawn and dragged our asses and our cars to the car wash for a quick cleanup before the show. Made it to the Englishtown Raceway bright and early to set up the two tents and park our cars.

  2. The weather was on our side, it was sunny but not at all humid. We spent a fair amount of time walking around, watching the drag races, tire burnouts and visiting the vendors and show cars.
  3. After that the entire gang had a huge buffet dinner at a Mongolian restaurant down the street. Some of them left town for the night, and the couple of us that stayed on made our way home on monday.
    Monday:
  1. Driving... Driving... Driving.... We left at 7am, ran into highway constructions, a fierce thunderstorm, and a KY-Jefferson County Red Corrado that decided to cruise with us on his way back. Couple of hours later, at 12.30am (tue morning), we were finally home.

It was a long trip, tiring as well, but I knew it was worth it coz I get to see Pearly at least for a day, and the surge of adrenaline I got from seeing all these VWs on the road, and the thrill of driving like a crazy m*t**** f**k**... I'd say it was probably one of the best experience I've ever had.
