friday five
Last week's was about cars, this week is sports. Two of my favorite topic. Excellent.

1. Do you watch sports? If so, which ones?
Of course I do. If and when I am doing stuff around the apt, I just leave the TV on either ESPN, ESPN2 or Speedvision. I particularly like NFL and college football, and european football (soccer) if and when they do broadcast it.

2. What/who are your favorite sports teams and/or favorite athletes?
Don't have really strong feelings for any specific teams, but these listed are generally what I liked:
European Football favs: Arsenal, Ryan Giggs, Michael Owen, Peter Schmeichel, Eric Cantona... Italian, German, and Spanish football leagues.
NFL: Rams, Colts, 9ers, Vikings, Packers; Peyton Manning, Tim Couch, Peerless Price...
College FB: Florida, Florida State, any top 25 teams are fun to watch.

3. Are there any sports you hate?
I don't really hate any sports, bu I don't usually follow baseball or hockey unless it's the playoffs; I try to keep up with the latest sporting news by watching sportscenter.

4. Have you ever been to a sports event?
Rams, Blues, Cardinals, UK Wildcat BB and FB; every World Youth Cup game the one year it was held in m'sia (1997).

5. Do/did you play any sports (in school or other)? How long did you play?
I wished I was good in sport. I dabbled in some, but never work hard enough to excel in any, which I now regret.
...

My friend's car. Gotta love this shot. 150mph at only 4200 rpm, that's pretty insane. Someone wants to guess the make and model?

travel
I will be doing a lot of driving next weekend, first to Atlanta GA to visit some good ole college friends Cerelia and MeiSin, and then will continue on from Atlanta to Charlotte to visit S.Boy.

I look forward to this trip, although I'll be the lone driver in my Hertz rental car, (can't bring Shadow the Grey Jetta with me, he'll have too many miles on him by the time I'm done), I'll be traveling with some of the stlvw crew to Atlanta, armed with sodas and a walkie talkie to keep me awake.

chinese restaurants
It is in my expert opinion that if the restaurant can't make a good chicken fried rice and hot & sour soup, then the rest of the menu items won't be that great either.

I've always used soup and fried rice as the baseline for measurement. So far it has never fail me.

unacceptable
If your business is solely internet based, and you're in a very competitive market, then your site can't be down during peak internet surfing hours, like now.

Your reservation and scheduling site + database needs to be up asap, Southwest.
80°
Finally, a nice and warm day that I can wear my sandals again to show off my newly pedicured toes.
grrrr
I was turning off the lights in the living room and the dining room, getting ready to wash my face and call it a day... when I saw this HUGE GIGANTIC cockroach sitting right outside the door to my bedroom.

*heart stops beating*

I ran to the kitchen cabinet and pulled out the insect spray and launched a gas attack on that POS. Well guess what?!?!?!?!

It ran into my closet!!! And there are cracks in the wall all over the place in that little closet, and I bet that's where it went because I couldn't find it no more.

So my question is, will it just die and disintegrate and poof *disappear* after a couple of months, or will they rot in there and give out a nasty, deadly stench?

compensate
I missed the much hyped STLVW Oktoberfest drive last weekend because I went out of town. I was rather disappointed because I really wanted to go.

This weekend will the first weekend in 3 weeks that I'm actually going to be in town, and I will be heading out to the Auto Show in Motion (thanks to Ko for bringing it to my attention), hopefully get my hands on the 95 Saab Sportswagon, and or the Vette.

And then sunday, I'm gonna head out to the Warrenton Outlet Mall to stock up on some sweaters and stuff... the cold weather hit so quickly that I haven't even have time to replenish my winter clothes yet. That, and I also need to get couple of new carry on luagages for my many trips this coming fall and winter. Any of you who's interested in coming with me can drop me a line. I'm driving.
Weekend Recap
  • Shadow the grey Jetta took another 650 miles trip to Louisville this weekend.

  • Got to hang out with Elaine, Mike and Holly.

  • Ate some really authentic Vietnamese and Chinese food, I think I got my appetite back. Woo hoo!

  • Went to St. James Art Fair in Old Louisville. The weather was beautiful, the company was great. After the art fair, the four of us went to a park nearby and started goofing around. Pics should be up soon

  • Chatted with Ricky (Subaru Dude) who called from M'sia. Found out that he's doing excellent back there.

  • The girls sat around and chatted while Mike fell asleep on the couch.

  • Went eating and shopping with Holly on sunday.

  • We both wanted to buy demin jacket but ended up buying everything else other than a denim jacket.

  • Realized that I miss the girls a whole lot. I really wish we lived in the same city.
