good morning
  • Didn't go to bed till 2.30am last night.

  • Boy set the alarm to go off at 4.40am. It was guard duty weekend.

  • I didn't even hear the alarm go off but he got up.

  • I woke up to him yanking the comforter off my face and shaking my shoulders.

  • "Wake up wake up! Let's go to I-Hop."

  • I would have rolled my eyes if I could open them.

  • Fell back asleep only to be woken up by boy, again. "Let's go let's go".

  • I gave up. Plus, I was hungry.

  • There were only three tables seated when we got to I-Hop: a cop, a couple that was out partying all night and still in their rave clothes, and us.

  • Got done with breakfast and headed out to Lambert.

  • Drop boy off, drove home, and looked at the clock: it's only 7.28am.

color rug
This has got to be one of the coolest modular rug ideas, InterfaceFLOR. I just ordered the free catalog, and I'm sure I'll be browsing thru it to get good design ideas. Dang, I can't wait till we get our own house.

mind game
From facstlouis.com, this is an interesting questionnaire about brain usage:

Your Brain Usage Profile
Auditory : 53%
Visual : 46%
Left : 52%
Right : 47%

angeline, your hemispheric dominance is equally divided between left and right brain, while you show a moderate preference for auditory versus visual learning, signs of a balanced and flexible person.

Your balance gives you the enviable capacity to be verbal and literate while retaining a certain "flair" and individuality. You are logical and compliant but only to a degree. You are organized without being compulsive, goal-directed without being driven, and a "thinking" individual without being excessively so.

The one problem you might have is that your learning might not be as efficient as you would like. At times you will work from the specific to the general, while at other times you'll work from the general to the specific. Sometimes you will be logical in your approach while at other times random. Since you cannot always control the choice, you may experience frustrations not normally felt by persons with a more defined and directed learning style.

You may also minimally experience conflicts associated with auditory processing. You will be systematic and sequential in your processing of information, you will most often focus on a single dimension of the problem or material, and you will be more reflective, i.e., "taking the data in" as opposed to "devouring" it.

Overall, you should feel content with your life and yourself. You are, perhaps, a little too critical of yourself - and of others - while maintaining an "openness" which is redeeming. Indecisiveness is a problem and your creativity is not in keeping with your potential. Being a pragmatist, you downplay this aspect of yourself and focus on the more immediate, the more obvious and the more functional.

To some extend, I think the above diagnosis is rather true.

lunch
This guy that I work with, Darren, brought in a stock pot FULL of chili, two big bags of oyster crackers, four different kind of cheese, and 5 bottles of hot sauce (some with a skull printed on the label). We have fed 6 guys now, and the pot is till half full. *burp*
the weather
I keep coming across other peoples' blog of how bad traffic is because of the weather, but so far it has nearly no impact on me. When I lived in West County, I was a stone throw away from Page Ave and 270, and the highways are always cleaned by the time I get ready to go to work. When I was in the CWE, I was one street down from Forest Park, where they always kept it clean because of the hospital there, and now, even down in South City, I've not had a problem where my car lose traction or anything like that, even though the city does not plow our street. And the increase in time spent traveling on the road is minimal compared to most...

I guess in this sense, I must be incredibly lucky.

Superbowl Ads
Well well, this year's superbowl ads were mostly pretty lame, and I'm sure I'm not the only one that thinks so. I saw only a couple of ads that's worthy of the 2 million dollar slots. My favorite, by far, is actually the NFL ad that has the coaches and players singing "Tomorrow" (from Annie), and the tagline was "Starting tomorrow, we'll all be undefeated" A-B lived up to their expectations, putting out some good and funny ads, but a couple were just too crude to make it to my favorites list.

Here's the USAtoday's ad meter link. And if you miss the commercials and want to view it again, go to Ifilm's site.
