CNY
No, not Christmas in New York. It's Chinese New Year. :)

The official first day of the chinese calendar is February 1st, which, coincidently, is my sister's 21st birthday. How cool is that?! Too bad she won't be back in Malaysia celebrating. She'll be stuck in school in Seattle.

I've been going through some Chinese dishes' recipe from CyberKuali (which is m'sia's local newspaper special publication; Kuali is malay for Wok), but I'm not sure what I want to cook. I want to show southern boy that I indeed could cook, even if it's just two-three authentic chinese dishes.

So I need some advice *again*. Please vote yay or nay. Oh, and if you have some good suggestions, let me know as well. *looking at elaine*
Redesign
My creative cells are itching to do something. I figured I'll redesign this site just for the heck of it. But no, no, the cells refuse to cooperate. I've started a mock up 4 months ago and when I fired up Photoshop yesterday, I was still staring at the same design...

Some say if it ain't broken, don't fix it. Maybe that's what I should do. Anybody has any suggestions? Let me know.

Grumble
*pound* *pound* *pound*

I was woken up at the crack of dawn by my very irritated tummy. It has been yelling, mumbling, grumbling, and complaining all night. It didn't like the spicy thai noodles that I had for dinner last night.

In hindsight, it was rather spicy. Probably 100x more spicy than what I usually get -- "a leeeetle bit spicy please". Southern boy thinks that they mixed up the orders, he wanted hot hot, I wanted average spicy. And my noodles looked redder than ever last night.

See, the thing that I don't quite understand is: I grew up in malaysia. I grew up amongst hot and spicy malay and indian dishes. Why is it that my tummy does not have the tolerance level it needs to enjoy a good meal? Bah.

I think it's time to switch back to soup and salad.

6 for 13, 7 for 7
Despite the extreme cold weather trend that has been looming across St. Louis (and almost the entire country), saturday was a nice sunny day. Ran some errands early in the morning and then headed to the Best Buy out in the west to meet up with fellow VW-ers for a getogether. The car club meetings are always fun, on our way back from the counties, we tested the new Page extension. Heh.

Ended up in Dave and Buster and then made our way over to Fuddruckers for the monthly official club meeting. New club t-shirts and merchandises were revealed, and the club members were throwing out ideas on having more driving trips to local wineries. I am definitely looking forward to spring time.

After that, southern boy and I ended up at a bar down the street. I wanted to watch the Kentucky Wildcats vs. Alabama Crimson Tides game. The bar was running a special: 6 for $13. Southern boy and I exchanged glances after we nearly fell out of our bar stools. The Culppeppers at CWE runs specials during NFL games that are at a great price of 7 for $7! Compared that to the prices out in the counties... unbelievable.

So sunday, we promptly made our way down to our regular weekend hangout, Culps. Had soup, salad, wings, two++ buckets of beers, with Superbowl on the TV and great seats at the bar.

On our drive back, southern boy turned to me and say, "I love this city. I love St. Louis". It was a great ending for my fun-filled weekend.
