the joy of pain
A week ago, s.boy seeked professional help and got designerish: Colleen to draft up an aggresive work out schedule for him. Not wanting to feel inferior and/or left behind, and being a sucker for pain, I signed up for the same torture regime.
Bright and early on wednesday, I went out to the Y for my fitness test. I was poked, pinched, weighed, in order to determine how unfit I am. Well, the results were okay. Feeling somewhat disappointed, I was determine to make a change.
Colleen then draft up a 5 day workout schedule based on my needs and wants, and demonstrated all the moves and make sure my movements and postures are correct.
Fast forward two days to friday:
I was excited to start on the new workout regime, I whiped out the workout chart, did lunges, deadlifts, front and side raises, leg curls... etc. Most of these are not too hard, as Colleen started me out at a very manageable weigh.
I remember telling s.boy: "This is not too hard, I managed to do all these at least 12 reps, if not 15. I think I can up my weighs 5 lbs. next weeks."
Apparently I spoke too soon, coz today (saturday) I woke up with muscle aches in my hamstrings and butt cheeks, and have been groaning like a old woman everytime I sit down or get up from the couch.
I guess on the flipside, this means that I'm at least doing something right. Hoorah for the pain!
