the joy of pain
A week ago, s.boy seeked professional help and got designerish: Colleen to draft up an aggresive work out schedule for him. Not wanting to feel inferior and/or left behind, and being a sucker for pain, I signed up for the same torture regime.

Bright and early on wednesday, I went out to the Y for my fitness test. I was poked, pinched, weighed, in order to determine how unfit I am. Well, the results were okay. Feeling somewhat disappointed, I was determine to make a change.

Colleen then draft up a 5 day workout schedule based on my needs and wants, and demonstrated all the moves and make sure my movements and postures are correct.

Fast forward two days to friday:
I was excited to start on the new workout regime, I whiped out the workout chart, did lunges, deadlifts, front and side raises, leg curls... etc. Most of these are not too hard, as Colleen started me out at a very manageable weigh.

I remember telling s.boy: "This is not too hard, I managed to do all these at least 12 reps, if not 15. I think I can up my weighs 5 lbs. next weeks."

Apparently I spoke too soon, coz today (saturday) I woke up with muscle aches in my hamstrings and butt cheeks, and have been groaning like a old woman everytime I sit down or get up from the couch.

I guess on the flipside, this means that I'm at least doing something right. Hoorah for the pain!
the big screen
I should be so lucky, to be able to witness three of the greatest movies ever made, as Return Of The King completely blew me away! Never had I walked out of the cinema feeling so satisfied, yet so sad that this has come to an end...

the little details
I was just watching the new BMW 325 30 seconds commercial on TV. Basically the ad opened with a guy getting into the driver seat of the new 325 and there are couple of quick shots of the interior: the steering, the instrument panel, and I distinctly remember seeing the automatic transmission. Couple of seconds later the car was zooming in and out of some curvies, and the man was shifting gear on a manual gearbox... I know most people don't care about things like that, but I just happaned to notice that and now it bugs me. Good thing it was a BMW commercial and not Audi's. heh.
different dosages
There are two different type of personal blogs to me, 1. the blogs that are good to read daily, perfect in small daily dosage, and 2. the once-a-month type, good when I have a couple of hours to spare to sit down and devour a month worth of stories.

For some reason, Mae's and TheYeti's blog came to mind as I was writing this...

radio rivalry
I've always wondered how Sirius can compete in the satelite radio market, as XM has already established a stronghold by offering a cheaper monthly rate, and by being in business a year earlier than Sirius. Although Sirius offered more stations and no commercials, it just doesn't seemed convincing enough.

But now, Sirius has just took a step forward by signing a deal with NFL for rights to broadcast football games next season. I'm curious to see how this partnership will hold up, or would it crash and burn after a year.

For some reason, big corporate rivalries intrigue me, I think I need a change in career path.

sunday
It is sunny, warm, and windy out, and it is december. Makes me want to go to the zoo to see Mr. Giraffe.
