Gets me going in the morning
Every morning on my way to work, I always try to tune in to the radio to catch the traffic report. Not that I have a whole lot of traffic going my way - since my workplace is way out in the county, all traffic problems are usually on the opposite direction, but it's the catchy tune of the 80's hit series Knight Rider theme song that's playing in the background that gives me the much needed kickstart for my mornings.

Super Trooper
Southern Boy needed his own stor trooper for a work website, and since the stor trooper site has been taken offline, he couldn't use the configurator on that site anymore.

I volunteered to make one for him and I am really pleased with the way it turned out, except that I can't really get his Doc Marten's stripe to show on the shoes coz it was too small.
You're scaring me ;)
Friends of mine, Julie and Barry are currently looking for apts in downtown st. louis, and so far, their horror stories are rather frightening, although at the same time funny as hell!

Horror Story 1 | Horror Story 2a | Horror Story 2b

I was rather concerned because like them, I want to move into st. louis city soon, be it south city, or soulard, or etc, and from the ads the I have browse through, I was amazed at the cheap rent. The prospect of me saving a huge chunk of rent money is really enticing, but I don't want to live in some torn down apt with the bathtub in the kitchen! Hopefully these are just isolated incidents that Barry and Julie are experiencing... and I hope the next blog updates you two will have some better stories to tell. :)

Reminder to self
Go see Bend It Like Bechkam at the Chase April 18th.

I really really need to get Fox Sports World on cable or dish... although the English Premier League 2002-2003 season is almost half gone.
Dream a little dream
I had one of those tossing-and-turning sleep yesterday night, and it wasn't till about 4am that I finally fall into deep sleep. Then I dreamt...

Southern Boy and I were over at Mae and Matt's way cool living room. Matt was enthusiastically telling Ryan he got this new gadget: The Smart TV. Clap and it'll turn on. If it's not on the channel you want, just groan and it'll go to the next channel. S. Boy got real excited, so him and Matt spent the next 1/2 hour or so, clapping and grunting in front of the TV.

Then I woke up. The clapping and grunting and groaning in my dreams had been replaced by loud snoring from boy next to me. Put on my bathrobe and walked into the living room. Clap. Nothing happens to the TV. Good. Went back to bed.

No big bang ending
Just got done reading Grisham's The Summons last night, and I must say I wasn't thrill with the ending. I've read almost all his novels before this and it is in my humble opinion that this is by far the worst ending I've read. It wasn't bad overall, but because I held Grisham's writing at such high regards, I was rather disappointed this time.

Christy, I know you read this a while ago, don't you feel the same way?

Now I just need to remember to drop the book back to the library before I get hit with a bunch of late fees.

My next book to read? Choke by Chuck Palahniuk. I assume it'll be a good read as Ko has this on his list of "books that don't suck". And since Southern Boy has that book, I don't have to worry about late fees this time round.
Mardi Gras Weekend 2003
Just as I thought I won't need my digital camera on a friday night out, we drove by the Arch and saw a magnificent sight. It was snowing really heavily, and the Arch was lit with two huge lights on the ground, and where the light catches the snowflakes was magnificent! We had to stop the car and just stare at the scenery with our mouth wide open. :>o. It was beautiful.

Mardi Gras was on saturday. Got a wake-up call from Erin, rolled out of bed, and met up with Don and Colleen. Carpooled down to Soulard and it took us forever to find a parking spot. When we finally met up with Erin and gang, we were an hour late. But we have fun nonetheless, walking around in the cold... *did I just say Fun?* Saw a couple of boobylicious pairs, but didn't manage to capture any on camera. Darn.

Ended our day with a feast at the Old Spaghetti Factory. That place is good value for money. It came up to only about $12 per person, that includes soup/salad, garlic bread, tea/coffee, entree, ice-cream. It was a good meal.

Finally went home and just crashed on the couch. I am getting too old.
