Ah great *roll eyes*, I live in the fat city
The rankings are out. St. Louis made it to the top 10 Fattest City. Was I surprised? Maybe a little bit. I was actually more surprised by the fact that none of the Kentucky cities made it to the top 25, having lived in KY for 4 years, I would like to nominate the entire state.

This makes me think of the times I went clothes shopping when I was back in Kuala Lumpur. My goodness, those people there are thin. I thought I have a healthy image of myself, but wait till you see the girls there, holy cow. My conscience took quite a bit of beating then. I remember shopping for khakis, tops, and underwear: I am nothing less than an M, occasionally an L.

I think I'd rather contribute my money to the U.S. local economy. At least I am an XS or S here.

updated: I just did my part as a st.louisan. After a huge meal of pork tenderloin, courtesy of southern boy, I promptly sit myself down on the couch in front of the TV (NFL playoffs Falcon vs. Packers), with sherlock holmes in one hand, dreamery tiramisu ice-cream on another.

Show me
Was taking a quiz on MSN this morning and I finally found out why Missouri is called the Show Me State:
Missouri became known as the Show Me State in 1899, when Congressman Willard D. Vandiver said: "I come from a country that raises corn and cotton and cockleburs and Democrats, and frothy eloquence neither convinces nor satisfies me. I'm from Missouri. You’ve got to show me."

First Snow 2003
It snowed beautifully last night. It was coming down fast and heavy and within hours, the streets were fully blanketed in snow. It was so pretty that we decided to walk out to 7-11 instead of the usual drive. A tropical girl and a southern boy walking in the snow, sometimes, really, the best things in life are free.

Happy New Year!
Everyone, have a Happy New Year!!! http://doody36.home.attbi.com/liberty.htm
Surprised
Dear Pei Yee,

Thank you so much for the C+B serving bowl. I love it! It is very 'me'. I took a picture of that so you can see how it looks like on my table - and on my red crate and barrel placemat :)

And as usual, the hand-made christmas card is very neat, although I did burst out laughing when I was reading your 'FYI': the envelope ws very painstakingly made, even though it doesn't look great, you had better keep it! And please, if the cotton balls fall off, stick them back with regular glue...

Now I feel quite awful for not getting you anything. Well, I did attempt to, but you didn't want anymore red nike shoes. I'll figure out something else.

Was going to call you and say Thank You so much, but I ran out of daytime minutes, I might give you a call tonight, but then again you might be out having dinner with friends...

Anyways, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I'm very happy to have a sister like you.
