A Quickie Blog
Happy Independence Day everyone! Yesterday was great. Elaine, Mike and Holly arrived at my apartment at 1.30am. We chit-chat for awhile before deciding it's time to visit dreamland. In the morning, all of us, plus Chris's friend from work went to a dim sum place for brunch. The food was good, but they were just a lil' bit too slow in getting their dim sum cart to our table. It was great that there were 6 of us there, because we get to order more variety and need not worry about not being able to finish them.

After filling up our tummy we met up with couple of Chris's friends from work, and then headed downtown to the Fair Stl. It was HOT and HUMID. But the trees around the walkway helped cool us down. When the heat has became unbearable, we seek 'asylum' inside the Arch... we took trip up the Arch. It was really interesting, but definitely not for the claustrophobic.

The Air Show at 4.30pm was pretty good. We all sat at the lawn area right in front of the Arch. That lasted till about 5-ish and we all decided we need to get a drink somewhere with air-condition. Went to Morgan Street Brewery, had a drink or two, and then from there we proceed to hunt down a Thai restaurant for dinner... (which turned out to be quite an ordeal, because most places were closed for the holiday, duh.) We ended up at Thai Country Cafe on the Loop, which turned out to be pretty good. In my opinion, the serving wasn't big enough, but that's just me, + I was starving at that point.

Today will be another day full of interesting expedition and visits to more asian restaurant. Yippie!

Me signing off now... wish Diana was here too. :)

Fight Night
It's amazing what a night's fight with your man can do for you.

I wasn't very happy with Mike yesterday, so after dinner I brought it up. Of course he started getting defensive. This would be where we started debating and soon enough it will turn into a heated argument. Well, before we even got to the debating part, I told him I didn't want to deal with it, went upstairs to take a shower and proceeded to vent.

The trick for me at this point is to stay occupied so that my mind won't want to argue with Mike. I locked myself in the bathroom, and started washing the tub. I scrubbed and scrubbed. (The tub is looking mighty clean now, thanks.) Then I took a nice long shower with candles all lit up. It was about 9:40 then, I figured what the heck ... I'll just pluck my eyebrows ... and upper lip hair. And after that, there was just enough time to repaint my toenails (I went from dark red to nude brown). After my bathroom hogging hours were up (couldn't figure out anything else to do with myself in the bathroom), I checked my emails, replied some, and played the Gameboy just before tucking myself into bed.

Moral of the story: When you just can't find the time to clean your house or pamper yourself, just start an argument with your significant other. Muahahaha!! (Just kidding) :)

Fair St. Louis
2 more days until the 4th of July. Gosh, I really can't wait. I bought a last minute plane ticket for Chris to fly into St.Louis from Cleveland so he can be here for the celebration. Two of the aunties (Elaine, Holly) plus Mike (Elaine's significant other) will be driving into town after work on the 3rd. Woo hoo! We'll definitely be going to the Fair St. Louis right by the arch to checkout the parades, fireworks and etc...

Here's the website about the fair: www.FairSTL.org. It's a good resource for all the events and also the security measurement that we'll have to go through. Enjoy. I'll blog more about my weekend later.
