Don's Haunted Mansion Bash
Mae and Angeline in costumeFriday evening. Finally left work at 6pm because my mind was on the Halloween Bash and I absolutely could not stand to sit at my office desk anymore whilst everybody was getting their costume ready.

My wig needed some help. Mae was a tremendous help. Without her, the bangs would be in my eyes all night :). The turnout was great, and almost everybody was in costume. *thumbs up*. I think Leesa looked the best in her Judy Garland's Dorothy costume, and finely companionated by Melf the scarecrow. Mae's outfit was a blast. She was definitely the talk of the town. Only she could carry that dominatrix look. Couldn't help but burst out laughing when Matt stood next to her in his reverend outfit. *LOL*

I was really happy to see such a huge turnout from the stlbloggers, Leesa, Melf, Mae, Matt, Joe, Melissa, Christy, Bruce and Vince were all there. On top of that, Don's friends are a fun lot, Erin, Colleen, Reggie, Andrew, Eduardo, Forrest, etc were fun to hang out with last night.

At 2.30am, I finally staggered home. Thanks again Don and housemate, for hosting this incredible party. Oh, and thanks to Matt and Mae, pictures are up.

Friday Food For Thought
OK people, it's FFFT time.
Name 5 songs you would include in the ultimate bob-your-head-in-the-car compilation CD.

Rules:
1. No techno
2. They have to be songs that can actually be sung to
3. Can be of any genre, as long as they fit the first 2 rules
Design Slump
This week at work, I was given 30 hours to do 4 mock ups for my client's project. They're launching a new line of cars and the project that I'm working on is targeted at 10-20 years old. Today is my third day at tackling this and I absolutely can't draw out any good designs at all. I have surfed all the eye-candy websites there is out there, looking for edgy but cool website targeted at teens, but that still doesn't help. I haven't been doing design work for quite a while now, since I'm always stuck with troubleshooting customized templates that other people attempted at, poorly, if I may add. I'm sure my Flash and Photoshop are glad to see me back, but I can't seemed to please them now.

I might be running later than I expected for the Halloween party because I absolutely need to get this done before I head out. So, if any of you have any good tips on how to get my 'creative juices' flowing, leave a comment.

Killer Cravings
Right across from my office is the training room. For the past two weeks there has been countless of trainings going on in there, mostly for our clients that needed software and system trainings.

Whenever there's training, there's food. The trainmaster will usually order bagels, cream cheese, Krispy Kreme, coffee, tea, soda, orange juice for the morning session, and popcorns, brownies, chocolate chip cookies, basically snacks for the afternoon session.

Come 4.30pm, after the training, the trainmaster will let us have the leftovers on the dessert tray. She'll carry the tray of snacks and a bucket of ice/soda and walk around our offices to see if anybody wants anything. Mine office is always the first stop.

For the past 2 weeks, I have had chocolate chip cookies and brownies every afternoon. Cause those are my favorite. Actually anything with chocolate in it will do it for me.

There's no training today. I had my door wide open so I can hear what's going on out there. The training room door was locked and it's pretty quiet out there.

So I got back from lunch, and I have this incredible urge for anything that has chocolate in it. Walked to the kitchen - nothing on the counter. Walked to the big blue table - nothing on it. Walked to Susan's desk, she usually has a good stash of Reese's - the container was empty. Walked down the hallway - there are couple cans of soda leftover from yesterday's training... no chocolate.

*Sigh*

Scott poked his head out of his office, "Angeline.... what's wrong?".

"I have this immense cravings for chocolate."

Scott rummaged through his drawers, pulled out a chocolate wafer bar, "here ya go."

*Gasp* "Thank you thank you!!*

I wolfed down the bar in two bites. It was very satisfying.

Afterthought: We should have a bake-off, a chocolate dessert bake-off. I'll volunteer to be on the taste testers panel.
My Mane Problem
Yesterday after work I went to this unnamed Halloween store to pick up a costume for Don's party tomorrow. Ended up getting a wig instead. The wig is about shoulder length with bangs in front. After I got home and try that on, I realized that the bangs are way too long, instead of ending just short of my eyebrows, they covered my eyes entirely.

So now my question is, can I give the wig a hair trim so that it'll be the right length? Does anybody know how to do this? I found an item on ebay that looked somewhat similar, the bangs actually look very much alike. Your help will be very much appreciated. Thanks!

Various moments
I like reading the Happy Relationship Moments that Christy wrote, and Ko's spin-off Funny Relationship Moments, so I thought I just add my little entry of the Nice Moments to the mix:

Me: Rant rant rant about how I don't know enough people in St. Louis to do stuff with, or even go costume shopping for Halloween.
My friend: *Out of the blue* Me. I'm your Huckleberry.
Damn it, FOCUS!
It's 1:30pm back in the office ... Brain not functioning, refusing to cooperate ... have tons of work to do, but cannot focus ... mind wandering off ... brain is directing the hand holding the pencil to start filling in all the letters that have fillable spaces in them ... now notebook looks like it belongs to a high schooler ... wrote "things to do" about 15 minutes ago ... list has not even started yet ..... mind is falling asleep ..... *whack* WAKE UP, BRAIN!! ....... nothing ........ still nothing .......... beeeeeeeeep.
Non-Daily Trivia 4
Aha! I thought somebody borrowed my trivia deck and haven't return it yet, but apparently it was sitting at the bottom of the drawer all these while. Let's try some of these questions:

  1. Can you name the composer who wrote "White Christmas" and "God Bless America"?

  2. Did "the shot heard round the world" start the Civil War or the Revolutionary War?

  3. In 1955, what brave African-American refused to give up her seat in the section of a bus reserved for whites?
Here are the way overdue answers for Daily Trivia 3:

  1. District of Columbia

  2. U.S. mail carriers (The quoted words are found on the General Post Office in New York City)

  3. The Declaration of Independence (in 1776)

Lose control
I'm a scatterbrain. I was panicking this morning because I couldn't find my bunch of keys. I need to start being more organized, but as I look around my apartment, I realized that it'll be an impossible uphill task.

Now where was I going with this conversation? I lost my train of thoughts. Oh well, I'm going running now. I might find my brain laying somewhere in the parking lot where I last left it.

This is for Drew and um... Vince
Just for your afternoon reading pleasure Drew, I'm going to write a blog. Don't complain it's blah, because I really have no inspiration.

I don't know if it's karma, or chemistry, or the full moon that brought us stlbloggers together, but I must admit, we all get along extremely well, and we always have such a great time! Friday night was a blast, the things I learn from everybody, hehehe, let me just say it's priceless. Pictures are up now.

Things on my plate this week:

  • Have dinner with client on monday night... The whole dining discussion we had last week came in real handy :)

  • Hook up with Mae and shop for my Halloween costume for Don's bash

  • Shop for a new pair of tan boots - Pearly, Elaine and I had a full length discussion about this in the morning :)

  • Make sure I call ahead to order the finger foods I'm going to bring on friday

  • Weekly thursday lunch has been rescheduled to tomorrow.

  • Send my poor rained-on suede jacket to dry clean

  • Email my parents. My poor mom finally emailed me to find out if I'm still alive. I haven't talk to them for 2+ months

  • Return a couple of household items I bought
There. I'm done. This is not the most interesting blog. But people have been wanting updates. So there you go, back by popular demand.
