random act of kindness
At work, all our offices have a little whiteboard hung outside the door. We use it to leave quick messages such as: "late lunch, be back at 2pm" or "out today be back tomorrow"

This morning, someone has scribble notes on everyone of the whiteboards.

Mine said, "you're a great designer, a sharp mind, and a good friend.". The others has similar notes of encouragement as well.

The president of our company then sent this email out:

Folks,

As I write this I have suspicions, but I am not certain of the identity of the author of all the notes of encouragement that each of us received this morning. I don't know about you, but when I came to my office this morning, my note about reduced me to tears, as I have needed the encouragement as much as any of us. I have learned a very big lesson and encourage you to learn it with me. Regardless of circumstance, we each have a tremendous ability to lift the spirits of those around us. Mine have been lifted and I hope yours have been as well.

To whoever left the notes, you have given us much more than encouragement. You have given us vision. Thank you.

And this happened when the morale at my workplace is at its all time low.

My day is looking much better already.
friday 5
You have just won one million dollars:
1. Who do you call first?
S.boy to tell him we can finally get out of our debt. Then my sister to tell her not to worry about tuition anymore.

2. What is the first thing you buy for yourself?
A beautiful new/used Audi S4.

3. What is the first thing you buy for someone else?
I'll give cash out to my family.

4. Do you give any away? If yes, to whom?
Truthfully? Maybe. Probably to UNICEF or some other agency with similar agenda.

5. Do you invest any? If so, how?
Invest some of it, 60% mutual funds/stocks, some to IRA, and some in savings. Use the interest to gradually payoff debts, debts and more debts. Also gotta make sure I keep enough cash in hand to maintain my Audi ;)

work
My job sucks nowadays, always feel like I'm stuck with nowhere to go. But, it's the people that I worked with that makes it much better than it is. I got 3 new CDs this morning for my listening pleasure, thanks to Darren.

1. The Black Eye Peas - Elephunk
2. Jet - Get Born
3. Easy Star All-Stars - Dub Side of the Moon

#3 is by far the most "interesting album". It's a cover of Pink Floyd's dark side of the moon, in reggae style.

Now if 5 o'clock will come by quickly, my day will almost be perfect.

bored at work?
Here's something that'll help ease the boredom: Gallery of Regrettable Food
ice
The steps outside our apt are now very icy and slippery. But the landlord won't come and clean it. According to him, if he cleans it and someone falls, then he is responsible and can be sued. However, if he does not clean it, and someone falls, then it's just mother nature, and he's not liable for that.

Pffft.

I think I'ma go borrow a shovel and buy some salt and do some clean up today when I get off work. If I can prevent myself from slipping on the 8 steps of ice and land on my butt, I will.

addiction
This is crazy, I just got myself 3 more magazine subcription, as if I don't already have enough to read.

What I currently have:
Glamour, Lucky, Marie Claire, FHM, Forbes, Eurotuner.

What I just got today:
Redbook, Fitness, Budget Living

Everytime the monday night dinner gang comes over, they'll all sit on the couch and read them magazines. DonK always say, "what is this? A doctor's office?!"

It's a good thing I don't horde the magazine and keep them for years. I used to, I had about 3.5 years of marie claire stored one time, and then I had to move and I decided to throw all of them out. Now I just give them away to the girls.

today
I hope it dumps a WHOLE LOT OF SNOW tonight and tomorrow morning. I want my workplace to shut down so I can go roll down art hill.
