Greetings from Louisville
I admit, I sometimes dread weekends because there is absolutely nothing happening. A typical saturday for me is: wake up at 8-ish, watch TV, realized there's nothing on worth watching on TV, turn on the computer, check all my favorite blog sites, check emails, check all the blog sites again, tweak the 4aunties.net site a little bit, check the blog sites again...

I was really craving for girls' time and so I called up Holly on Thursday night and asked her if it'll be alright if I visit her for the weekend. Turned out that she had some time on her hand and voila, a gathering with Holly and Elaine was planned.

I spent Friday night at a new club in downtown St. Louis because they were giving out free food and free drinks during happy hour. After that, I went home and packed to get ready for my trip. Woke up at the crack of dawn this morning and drove to Louisville.

Before this I was kinda iffy about driving alone because I haven't done long distance driving alone. But, it turned out that I really really enjoyed the drive. It was astonishingly relaxing, and I spent a lot of time just thinking about life, job, friends...

I told Holly about my driving experience to Louisville, and she dissected the situation: that in our normal life, we are so busy that even when we're driving, we're always pre-occupied with trying to get 10 thousands things done at once, (e.g. making an important phone call to the cable company, check the to-do list for the day, blah blah blah). A long distance drive actually forces you to sit in the car and do NOTHING, which I guess is what I liked so much about the drive to Louisville.

Definitely an enlightening journey for me.

Gotta go get ready for dinner with Holly and Elaine now. Me signing off from Louisville.

The Mole
Watched the second last episode of The Mole II: The Next Betrayal awhile ago on ABC. Man, I've forgotten how much I like that show... it's one of the better reality-based competition/show, definitely a notch above Survivor, Big Brother, and even Amazing Race. Next week is the Ultimate Finale of The Mole II. Need to have that down in my calender so that I won't forget.

The computer speakers are cranked all the way up with the new Linkin Park's Reanimation. So far the verdict is good. I wish LP would tour again soon. I saw them couple of months ago at the Family Arena in St. Charles and it was awesome! I remembered I was sicked with sore throat and my nose was all stuffed up. I had to take a day off from work just to make sure I feel good enough to get to the concert. The head-banging and jumping up and down was well worth it... because it cleared up my sinus that very instance. Hehehe.
Reanimated, rejuvenated
I woke up today feeling exceptionally great! Why? Because today marks the release of Linkin Park's new remix album Reanimation! I'm debating whether to run to Best Buy/Target during lunch time and grab that album, but unfortunately I have a 1 o'clock meeting and I cannot be late. Oh well, maybe it'll just have to wait till the end of today. Can't wait!!

The weekend getaway
First of all, a big thank you to all those who emailed, called, sent cards, ICQ-ed and tag-boarded me to wish me Happy Birthday. All your messages definitely help make my day!

I was away for the weekend in Pittsburgh, PA. Decided to give myself a real treat and visit Chris there. Some of the stuff that we did are:
    Saturday
  1. Helped Chris move his furniture from the rented storage to his new apartment. The couch was really really heavy it was unbearable. But the muscle ache made me feel good the next day :)

  2. Ate at Bravo, an Italian restaurant. The pasta I ordered was shimmered in chicken broth, roasted garlic, mushrooms and spinach. Very good. I'm hunting down the recipe and see if I can recreate it in my kitchen. Yeah right.

  3. Spent the day at the Grove City outlet mall. Bought a pair of shoes, couple of tops, and a new pair of sunglasses. Chris got himself a nice mocassin from J.Crew. Nice!

  4. Had sushi for dinner at Little Tokyo on McFarland with Chris's friends and co-workers. Pearly called. We chatted for a bit while I waited for the food. *Thanks Pearly!* The unagi (eel) was definitely better than the one in Tachibana up on Olive Blvd.

  5. Drove up to Mt. Washington to see the 3 rivers that run through Pittsburgh, and then went to Station Square to dance the night away at this new club called Matrix.

    Sunday
  1. Sunday was a little bit more relaxing. Went to a cool place called Shadyside. The concept of that place is sort of a cross between Kansas City's Country Club Plaza and The Loop in St. Louis. Had thai food for lunch and did a little shopping at Gap and Banana Republic. :p
I do want to pay a little tribute to my best friend Chris. When I first knew him 6 years ago, he was always shy, seldom speaks up and overall a very timid person that always just follow where the flow goes. He has changed so much since then. He's very organized, and go-getter, diplomatic, and generally a little but more aggresive towards work and life. Chris, you have changed so much before my very own eyes, and I just want to let you know I'm very proud of you and who you are. You're awesome!

I need to catch up with sleep.
