right now
On a phone conversation with Ryan earlier this week, he told me that he's used to things happening the military way now. For example, if he was asked to do something, it usually has to be completed within 24 hours. Absolutely no room for procrastination.

One of his airman buddy complained that he asked his mom to find out something for him, and when he called home the next day, his mom didn't have an answer ready for him yet, and he felt really frustrated.

I was thinking to myself, "Heh, at least you're changing for the better!" but then I realized, good gosh he's setting the bar really high! If he doesn't ease up by the time he comes home, I think I'll have my work cut out for me.

As the reigning queen of procrastinator, maybe it's not such a bad thing afterall. "Just don't be too harsh on me, ok honey ?" ;)
rain rain go away
Good gosh it is still raining. It seemed like it's never gonna end considering that it was already raining when I woke up at 6.30am, and it is now 14 hours later. It makes me want to sleep all day. Which I can, but I shouldn't... oh hell why not? Coz I just woke up from my nap that's why.

bees
Last night was such an adventure! After we got home from dinner last night, a uniformed man appeared outside our front door. He was a fireman who was going around telling everyone to shut their doors and windows. As it turns out, there was a HUGE beehive / hornet's nest on the wall on the 14th floor! (We live on the 13th floor) None of us had ever noticed it since it was too high up and blocked by some plants and walls, but it was as big as a basketball, I kid you not.

So after everyone rushed to close all windows and doors, and everyone double-checking for everyone else to make sure the windows are really shut, we all proceeded to the window to watch the action. The firemen proceeded to turn off the lights on 2 or 3 adjacent floors above and below us, I suppose it's because bees/hornets/whatever-they-are are attracted by lights. Then we saw them holding a couple of flame torches, and we speculated that they would smoke the bees out. A fireman saw us watching from the window and waved at us. Then he started playing with us by putting his hand close to the beehive! :) How funny!

So finally they were ready with their fire suits and stuff, and they lighted the flame torches. And without any time wasted at all, they proceeded to burn the bees nest! I thought the bees would start flying around randomly at first, but they just started falling down like rain! Took the firemen a good 1-2 minutes to finish burning the entire nest of bees!

before the sun rises
It is only 10.12pm but I'm ready for bed. Not sure if it's because I wore my contacts right-side-left and left-side-right today, or was it my new el cheapo sunglasses, but something made my head spin the entire day.

Oh, and I have to be up the same time as Ryan tomorrow morning - 3.45am... so he's gonna be my wake up call tomorrow! Yay! Waking up to his voice is 10000x better than mr. alarm yelling at me. I will have 15 mins to get ready, as her royal highness a-go-go needs to be chauffered to the airport by 4.30am :) to leave for THE WEDDING! Better bring me back some sand from the caymans!

Time to scrub my face clean and polish those dirt off my teeth. Nighty night.

accomplishments
It's only 10.10am on a sunday morning, but I've been up for 3 hours now and have:
  1. Found the MUCH needed Patanol eyedrops. I've been looking for it for days, knowing that I stowed it away in some place safe, but couldn't quite remember where I've seen it. I woke up this morning with my eyes crusted shut, and my first instinct was to look in the bathroom, though I've searched high and low in there before. And there it was, sitting in a bucket together with all my toiletries underneath the sink.

  2. Opened all the windows to let the cool breeze in. First I had to dust the blinds.

  3. Then, proceeded to plop my butt down on the lawn chair on my balcony and devoured the last 1/3 of the Da Vinci Code.
This is a good day.
First things first
What one needs to do when relocating back with parents in home country
1. Get bigger closet. Right away. Preferably, mom pays for it. (Closet to come on the 29th ... can't wait!)
2. Find home for shoes while your feet are getting acclimatized to the weather. Buy bigger shoes in the meantime to accomodate bloated feet. (Right now, I'm still wearing slippers everywhere until I find a comfy pair of pretty sandals)
3. Rummage sister & mom's closets for new handbag. Keep searching until right one comes along. If none is available, head out to the mall to buy one. (I'm gonna look for one later at Nike)
4. Buy cellphone. Right away. Choose a plan. (I bought a Samsung SGH-X430 and Mike bought a Nokia 6100. Dropped RM850 on each. Ouch! Yes, I still have not gotten over the sticker shock.)
5. Learn to drive. On the other side of the car, on the other side of the road. Try one's best not to kill any motorcyclists who keep weaving in and out of nowhere. (Driving for me has been so far so good. I just bought my mom's old car, and she's heading out this week to buy herself a new SUV! I'm gonna keep this old car for a while until I feel comfident enough that i won't wreck a brand new one)
6. Learn to share PC coz brother hogs PC all day/night. Failing to learn to share, head out and buy new PC for yourself. (I've decided to buy a Dell desktop system, will probably start shopping around in the next couple of weeks.)
