Friday Five
I'm jumping on to the bandwagon as well:
1. What was the first band you saw in concert?
It's probably the Anger Management Tour at the Savvis Center, or one of the many shows I've been to at the Pageant. Can't really recall.

2. Who is your favorite artist/band now?
My all time favorite band is Garbage. I like good music, period. It doesn't matter which band they're from.

3. What's your favorite song?
The song that I am hooked on right now is the Propellerheads - Velvet Pants. Most of the songs on that album have huge potential to be soundtracks for ads.

4. If you could play any instrument, what would it be?
The guitar, either that or the piano. I haven't played the piano in years, and I wasn't all the good to begin with.

5. If you could meet any musical icon (past or present), who would it be and why?
The Abba, or Carole King.
Ikea
This is a good article on Ikea. I know many of you are Ikea's fan, so this will be a good read.
I wonder when they're going to open up an Ikea store in St. Louis. Maybe take over one of the big lots in Boone's Crossing or Gravois Bluffs.

I like this phrase
It's not having what you want, it's wanting what you got.
True true.

Football Fever
It's spring. I got the Football Fever. Here goes today's results from the UEFA Champion's League quarterfinals:

Full-time: Inter Milan 1-0 Valencia
Inter take a slender lead into the second-leg. Valencia enjoyed a lot of possession but could not breal their Italian opponents down.

Full-time: Juventus 1-1 Barcelona
Juventus pay the price for their lack of ambition and Barcelona take a potentially crucial away goal into the second-leg of their tie.

A visitor's guide to St. Louis
I'm gonna steal this from A-go-go.
  1. The morning rush hour is from 6:00 to 10:00 am. The evening rush hour is from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. Friday's rush hour starts Thursday morning.

  2. If you actually stop at a yellow light, you will get rear-ended.

  3. Gravois Road can only be pronounced by a native.

  4. Construction on highway 40, 70, 270, 44, 55 and I-170 is a way of life, and a permanent form of entertainment.

  5. If someone actually has their turn signal on, it is probably a factory defect, or has been on for the last 17 miles.

  6. All old ladies with blue hair in Cadillac's (driving on Olive (west of 270) have the right of way.

  7. Laclede Station Road mysteriously changes names as you cross intersections. As do McKelvey Road, McDonnell Blvd., Lindbergh, Watson, Fee Fee, Airport Road and Midland.

  8. A trip across town will take a minimum of 4 hours.

  9. The wrought iron on windows in East St. Louis isn't ornamental.

  10. Never stare at the driver of the car with the bumper sticker that says, "Keep honking, I'm reloading".

  11. If you are in the left lane, and only going 70... people are NOT waving when they go by.

  12. It is just known that you can roll through a stop sign anywhere south of highway 44, west of 12th Street, East of Kingshighway Blvd and north of Chippiwa.

  13. Drivers will merge at the last minute from the far left lane of highway 40 to the entrance ramp of interstate 170. Be prepared and not caught off-guard, it will happen extremly fast.

  14. It's not unusual to pull over and make way for emergency vehicles every hundred yards while driving down Grand Ave.

  15. It's okay to double park in the streets of the city, even if there are numorous parking spots available.

  16. When crossing a street, the "walk signal" means nothing to motorists.
Football crazy
I think I'm gonna go home for lunch today.

ESPN 2 rocks. They're showing the Champions League Real Madrid vs. Man Utd. game live this afternoon at 1.45pm CST. I don't think I can take the afternoon off, therefore, I'm gonna rely on my good old VCR to record the game for me. I can feel my blood pumping.
Quiet time of my own
I ran some errands after work today, and happened to pick up a new bottle of pink nail polish. Gosh, I can't even remember when's the last time I had nail polish on, probably a good 5-6 months ago. Came home and found Glamour in my mailbox.

That was the start of a perfect night, an excellent dinner at Erin's, a scary movie plus a sweeeeeet dessert. Came home, boy was doing his usual winding down for the night--beer, cigarettes, and TV. I was in my room, cold because I had my windows opened, comfy because I have my bathrobe on, did my nails, and read my new magazine cover to cover.
