Stories to tell
I took a day off work today to go climbing, and I’m very proud of myself. Did 5 climbs, 2 of them were lead climbs!! *beam* :D
It was certainly a very interesting day. Cusco, Sam’s dog, fell in love today. He met this lady and kept trying to hump her. We had to tie him up for most of the time, and let him loose on several occasions to see if he would behave. Nope. As soon as we let him go, he would go running back to that lady. One time we let him loose as the lady started climbing, and he even tried to climb after her!! When he realized that she wasn’t going to be coming down anytime soon, he sniffed out her sweater and attempted to steal it for himself. (I guess he was gonna hump to the smell of her sweater ... talk about a fetish!)
And then we met this couple that had been road tripping. Pretty awesome, huh? Well, they have been doing this since January! I asked the guy if he took a sabbatical or something, but he had quit his job. They’re from Seattle, and had drive to Mexico, back to Seattle, to Alaska, and now to Kentucky, and continuing down south to Tennessee and Florida! I wished I could do the same thing too; just take time off to have some fun ... but boy, I sure wouldn’t feel that good about not having a job when I went home, or about the fact that I’m income-less for an entire year. And this is not even taking into consideration what this year of not working will do to your retirement savings.
Back home just before going out to dinner, I was desperately trying to win this bid on eBay for Mike. It was a Nike t-shirt, going for about $21.50 at that time. So I waited till the last minute (literally), and started bidding. At $22.50, I was the highest bidder! *score!* At that point, 58 seconds to go, and I was clicking refresh to make sure nobody else was going to beat my bid. We’re down to 30 seconds, and some jerk bid $23! *ROAR!!!* >:O I frantically scrolled down to up my bid, but ... alas, the auction had ended by then. Boy, was I mad. I was cursing and shouting at the computer! I calmed down after that, of course ... hehehe. The thrills of eBay can be pretty exhilarating. ;)

I’m glad I’ve got this weekend pretty lined up. Tomorrow’s going to be shopping for the entire day, returning and exchanging stuff. Then Sunday, we’re going to have lunch with Sam, Alfredo (her Peruvian husband), Paula (her Brazilian friend), and Willi (Paula’s Brazilian husband) before going off to Keeneland for some horse-racing! Woohoo! I’m determined to win some money, so I’m gonna set aside like $30-$50 bucks for betting. Muahahaha .... >:)
So that’s it. I’ve just had the most interesting day, and had lots of stories to tell. I’m expecting some opinions at least on the year-long income-less sabbatical. So let’s hear it, folks!
