you live you learn
Damn it! I never learn. For the past couple of trips that I've made, I've always wait till the last minute to buy my plane ticket, and pay out the wazoo for it. I keep promising myself I would never do that again.

That is, till today.

The plane tickets to San Antonio were really reasonable for the past two weeks. I checked and rechecked the prices, but never did submit my credit card info and purchase the tickets. Well, I about had a heart attack just now - the direct flight went from $260 to $530 in one day!!!! So now I have to settle for a 1-connection flight instead of direct flight, and still pay $340 for that, including hotel and car rental, I'm spending upwards of $700 for this trip to see boy graduate.

I know this will all be worth it when I'm standing there, witnessing his graduation with tears running down my face. But for now, I am just pissed at myself. Will I ever learn? Probably not.

abs workout
It's a friday afternoon and no one is in the mood to get any work done. We gathered around Suz's office just hanging out and chatting... in came Paul and he showed us this site: Dialectizer. By far the funniest thing I have seen all week!!!

My post below, after I put it thru the Dialectizer, reads like this:

I looked up urbandictionary.com and found many hilarious new terms that has been added since my last visit.

tv...again
Tuesday night is NOT a good movie night. Now that the first round audition is over, I'm no longer all that interested in American Idol. But, I'm glad the Queer Eye is finally airing all new episodes... it's about time! Although they are not as funny as before, it's still an entertaining show.

And I'm blogging about this while sitting in front of the TV, just because I can.
technology
I am by no means an early adopter to new technology, I would if I could, but hell, I would have to live out of my car...

But for the last two months, I've been playing catch up. I've finally upgraded my really old cellphone and got a Sprint PCS Vision phone, bought a HP laptop and hook up the wireless network in the apartment (right now it looks like a data center in the dining room, three desktops, one laptop and a WHOLE bunch of wires/cables everywhere), waiting for my bestbuy gift cert to come in so I can get the new Ipod Mini, and then maybe the Tivo.

So yeah, the Tivo. I'm seriously considering getting it. I know they have been around forever, but I have not personally experience and enjoy the full benefit of it till I was over at "south city haunted mansion" one night (aka don and colleen's place) and watched MBFOF in less than 40 mins. I think I was sold at that very moment.

DirecTV is offering the DVR Tivo thing for $99 including installation, and it's only $4.99 a month. I see it in the stars, but I just can't fork out the bling bling just yet. Not with all the places I have to travel to this coming summer.

Seriously, this is a typical case of the more I have, the more I want. I dread the day I have to explain to boy why i bought all these gadgets while he's away... I don't think he'll take retail therapy for an answer.

tv
This show, the Littlest Groom, is ridiculous. I know it was on last week, but I just didn't care too much about it. Today, I happened to be at home eating dinner in front of the TV when this came on. Everything seemed so rush and so fake, like there is no emotional investment/involvement at all.

Although, I'm kinda ashamed to admit, I will be glue to the tube when my big fat obnoxious fiance comes on. The entertainment value of that show is just too great!
weekend recap
  • Got the time zone mixed up and didn't call mom and dad like I was supposed to. They called a little later and then my sister, my family and I got into an hour long conference call.

  • In the midst of that, ryan called the home phone. He only have 30 seconds to talk. sigh.

  • Called ryan's mom after I got done talking to my family.

  • It's not even 11am yet on a saturday morning, and I've already spent almost 2 hours on the phone.

  • Met Kat and Jes for dimsum at Lulu's on olive. Ko was right, they put all the asian upstairs, and all the americans downstairs.

  • I had a really great time, both the girls are easy to talk to. That and I also haven't had dimsum in ages.

  • It was such a nice day out I really didn't want to go home. Wanted to go drive around but didn't know where to go. Went to the mall instead - big mistake.

  • Later realized that I have my monthly STLVW meeting that I completely forgotten. Apparently they went out for a drive. Argh!

  • Sunday was pretty harsh. I needed to get out so I just took Shadow out for a spin on the interstate. The 44W to 270N ramp is really fun.

  • But I think Shadow is sick. Hopefully it's just air filter that needs to be changed, not the MAF.

  • Caught up with the girls Elaine, Holly and Pearly. It was bittersweet, for many reasons. But it was all good.

  • The conversations I had with the girls just made me cried even more during the SATC finale.

  • Wrote a long letter to ryan pouring my heart out. Felt better after that. zzzzzzzzzzzz
